Chris Kent
Managing Director
I’ve been in recruitment for over 19 years, experiencing the full spectrum of highs and lows the industry brings! In 2008, I was headhunted by the founders of The People Network. Initially, it wasn’t the dream move I envisioned, as the UK faced its biggest-ever financial crisis, creating a tough recruitment market. Despite this, I helped scale the business, securing investment from Pertemps Network Group.
When the founders exited in 2016, I became part of the new leadership team and later took over as Managing Director. By 2020, I was navigating the global pandemic, reshaping the business and refocusing our market strategy, which later led to our rebranding to Fynity. This marked our exciting evolution from a traditional recruitment agency to a modern talent solutions partner. I’m passionate about driving successful outcomes for our candidates and clients and pushing forward our mission of inspiring futures without limits.
While steering Fynity day-to-day, I still enjoy staying hands-on with searches. For the past 16 years, I’ve specialised in placing exceptional talent within the Salesforce ecosystem, partnering with key Partners, End-users, ISVs, and Salesforce itself.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife and two young daughters, seeking out new adventures, enjoying a nice meal, and staying active through football, running, and hitting the gym.
Who inspires me? People who set massive goals or targets and who are then relentless in their pursuit of achieving that mission. George Heaton, CEO of Represent, is a good example. He has built Represent into a global brand and created a true community. And it wasn’t an overnight success; it was the result of over a decade of hard work, love and resilience. Russ Cook, AKA Hardest Geezer, is another, becoming the first person in history to run the full length of Africa. It took him 352 days to complete the journey and ran the equivalent of 386 marathons, that is 28.7 miles per day for almost a year. These individuals are on a mission and I find that truly inspirational.
Tyler Ross
Practice Lead - Software Engineering
I joined Fynity as an Apprentice in 2015 working my way up the ranks from Apprentice Consultant to Consultant, Senior Consultant, and Principal Consultant to my current role of Practice Lead, where I manage and mentor a team whilst remaining hands-on.
I specialise in identifying the best talent in Product & Architecture across Europe for my clients in Banking & Payments, a space that is ever-evolving, making it an interesting and rewarding area to focus on. I partner with many Tier 1 & 2 Banks, Challenger Banks and Consultancies, as well as emerging FinTechs across the UK & Europe.
I pride myself on being the go-to partner for many of the clients I partner with, consistently delivering cost and time-effective solutions that meet their hiring challenges and I am passionate about going above and beyond to deliver a world-class service.
Away from the office you can find me on the golf course, at the Emirates Stadium or exploring some of the most exciting dog-friendly places in the UK with my Golden Retriever. A fun fact about me is that I once scored a goal in front of David Beckham!
Who inspires me? Thierry Henry. A legend of the game, an inspirational leader for his team and a winner – I even have his signed shirt framed on the wall of my home office!
Steve Maycock
Principal Consultant - Cloud, Government & Defence
A veteran of the technology sector, I spent 12 years working in the IT industry before switching to recruitment where I have operated for the past 25 years.
My background as an IT Ops Manager and Head of IT has not only given me a deep domain knowledge but also provided me with a unique view of what my clients need from a service perspective when it comes to securing the best talent. I get deep satisfaction from solving talent problems, discussing technology and finding those unicorn candidates for those hard-to-fill search assignments.
I joined Fynity in 2018 as a Principal Consultant and focus on the Aerospace, Defence, and Public Sector, securing the very best Security Cleared talent for my clients. These sectors fascinate me due to the increasing demand for technical innovation and transformation and I enjoy building strong relationships and getting under the skin of my client's requirements.
Outside of work, I am a father to two boys and a rescue dog owner. Football is a big passion, following my local side Swindon Town, and with both of my sons playing football at a reasonably high level, I have been able to participate in their football journey, earning a Level 1 Coaching Certificate and getting the opportunity to share my passion for the game with younger players.
Who inspires me? My late father has always been my inspiration. He instilled in me the values of hard work, dedication to family, and the importance of providing them with opportunities for a better life. These principles have shaped me into the person I am today
Ben North
Consultant - Software Engineering
I began my journey at Fynity as an Associate Consultant in November 2023, joining after graduating in Business Management from the University of the West of England.
My role has been exciting with a steep learning curve, but I gained promotion to Consultant after 5 months, something I take great pride in. Specialising in Software Engineering, I focus on building high-performing development and engineering teams made of the finest Back-end, Front-end and Full-stack talent, as well as running searches for leaders up to CTO level.
Building relationships with clients and candidates is one of my favourite aspects of my role and I pride myself on delivering a high quality, transparent service. I love that I can help change people's lives and careers and the tech industry fascinates me due to its ever-changing nature and its impact on the wider business world.
Away from work I am an avid sports fan and can often be found watching Football, F1 and Golf, in particular my local football team, Swindon Town. Aside from sport, I love making the most of what my local area in the Cotswolds has to offer. I also love exploring new countries and cultures whenever possible and spent 5 years living abroad in Cyprus. My favourite holiday destinations are Barbados and Ayia Napa - which I know is quite the contrast!
Who inspires me? My Dad. His mindset and driven attitude towards his career and life ambitions are qualities I deeply admire and strive to emulate. His pursuit of excellence and ability to overcome challenges have shaped my own approach to achieving my goals.
Elle Mitchell
Senior Delivery Consultant
I joined Fynity in October 2022 as a Delivery Consultant, marking my first step into recruitment, an industry that had always intrigued me. After years of my mum telling me, "I think you'd suit a role in recruitment", I finally took the plunge!
In my first full year at Fynity, I was proud to hit my target, which led to a promotion to Senior Delivery Consultant. This has seen me take on the additional responsibility of leading our internal recruitment and identifying like-minded individuals to join our journey. Additionally, I serve as one of our Social Secretaries, planning quarterly events, socials, office fun, and more!
Working within the tech sector has been an incredible learning experience. I love that every candidate, vacancy, and company is so different, bringing lots of variety to my day-to-day role.
My favourite part of being a Senior Delivery Consultant is, of course, filling a tough role! The satisfaction of helping someone secure a new position that may significantly impact their personal and work journey and knowing that we've assisted a company with their hiring challenges, is truly rewarding. I pride myself on being thorough in my delivery process and always providing the best service to my candidates, keeping them updated and forming strong relationships.
Outside of the office, I'm a proper foodie and enjoy going out for dinner. I also love spending time at home watching a good movie or series and cuddling with my two kitties. While I'm generally relaxed, there are a few things that are a no-go for me: bugs (especially spiders), deep water, and sharks. I think everyone in the office is a little fed up with me screaming every time a fly comes near me—oops!
Who inspires me? My parents, I look up to them both personally and professionally, and my lovely partner, who inspires me in so many ways.
Sally Murray
Senior Delivery Consultant
I began my career in recruitment back in 2019 working as a 360 Consultant, responsible for building and running an industrial desk. I then moved into the world of tech, joining Fynity in 2021 as a Delivery Consultant and was promoted to Senior Delivery Consultant in January 2024.
I work across the business to identify and recruit top-tier talent within the tech sector across multiple verticals and have matched countless professionals with their ideal roles. As well as keeping up to date with industry trends and the specific needs of our clients.
The thing I love most about my job as it allows me to play a vital role in helping candidates find their dream jobs while also helping drive the growth and success of our clients.
When I was younger my dream job was to be an air hostess but unfortunately, I was 2 inches short of meeting the minimum height requirements! In my spare time, I love nothing more than going on walks with my dog Luna, my guilty pleasure of watching reality TV, and holidaying in various locations such as Ibiza, Las Vegas and Greece. I’m also partial to a Chicken Nugget meal from McDonalds!
Who inspires me? It has to be my partner… he has the patience of a saint!
